A Performance by Hugit Unmani Rubinstein
Thursday 29 August, 5-7pm
Blindfolded, the gaze is switched off, replaced by a mode of perception similar to dreaming. Triggered by sound, space and the presence of YOU in the audience a series of mark making and painting phenomena occurs.
This is a collaboration of all senses.
Hugit Unmani Rubinstein has lived in Melbourne and studied and received MFA at VCA and is currently residing in Tel Aviv, Israel.
"My work has traveled the world presented in France, Jordan, NY, Tel Aviv and Melbourne ... I am a multidisciplinary artist who’s aim is to break through and move beyond the traditional marriage between capitalism and art. My work is an invitation to explore question and highlight the essence of mediums. I use painting sound film photography and body as means of expression and experiment. Transcending the identification of an art object beyond its material bind is my goal."
